Sparta mounts headlining tour this fall
Sparta --which spent much of the summer opening for Incubus--gets top billing during a fall tour of the North American club circuit.
The group's month-long itinerary kicks off in early November; venues for several stops were still pending at press time. Details are shown below.
Further Seems Forever , Copeland and Sunshine will hold down the tour's opening slots.
Sparta is backing its sophomore album, "Porcelain," which surfaced in July. The set features the cut "Breaking the Broken," the music video for which is streaming at the band's website.
"Porcelain" is the follow-up to Sparta's 2002 full-length debut, "Wiretap Scars." The Texas-based quartet also issued an EP titled "Austere" in early 2002.
Singer/guitarist Jim Ward, guitarist Paul Hinojos and drummer Tony Hajjar co-founded Sparta after the trio's previous group, At the Drive-In, announced an indefinite hiatus in 2001. Bassist Matt Miller rounds out the lineup.
