Re-tooled Everclear returns with hits album, fall tour
Everclear --whose revamped lineup is fronted by lone remaining founding member Art Alexakis--gets behind its just-released best-of set with a round of U.S. club and theater dates.
So far, the group has confirmed 11 November concerts, most of which are set in the Northeast and Midwest. Details are shown in the itinerary below.
Everclear's website is offering fans an early shot at tickets via online presales, and will also be offering special ticket packages, details of which weren't immediately available. More information is posted at the band's site.
When the band hits the road, many fans won't recognize the lineup; founding guitarist Craig Montoya and longtime drummer Scott Cuthbert have left the group.
"Craig and Greg have left to pursue different directions in music and life," Alexakis wrote in a recent message on the band's website. "I wish them luck and success in all that they do."
A trio since its inception, Everclear is now a quintet featuring Alexakis, guitarist Dave French, bassist Sam Houston, keyboardist Josh Crawley and drummer Brett Snyder.
"I love where this is going musically," Alexakis said of his work with the new lineup. "I have been kinda frustrated for a long time. Not only that, but these guys are really good people who just want to make great music."
Last week, Everclear dropped "Ten Years Gone: The Best of Everclear 1994-2004." The 21-track set features hits culled from throughout the group's career, soundtrack contributions and two previously unreleased songs.
Everclear's most recent collection of all-new material is last year's "Slow Motion Daydream." The group plans to release a follow-up next year.
