Bob Dylan expands college tour, memoir in stores
At 63 years old, reluctant rock icon Bob Dylan is continuing his usual relentless tour schedule as his newly issued memoir puts him back in the headlines.
Dylan, who recently wrapped up a tour of minor-league baseball parks with Willie Nelson, continues his roadwork this fall with a trek that is so far scheduled to touch down at more than two-dozen college campuses in October and November.
Pre-sale tickets will be available for many shows before they are available to the general public; details are at Dylan's website.
The legendary singer/songwriter's tour comes on the heels of the release of the self-penned book "Chronicles: Volume 1," the first in a planned series of Dylan's personal histories. The book's release landed Dylan's mug on the cover of a recent issue of Newsweek, which also ran an excerpt of the volume.
Publisher Simon & Schuster simultaneously released an updated edition of "Lyrics: 1962-2001," which contains lyrics to nearly all of Dylan's songs.
Meanwhile, "Bob Dylan's American Journey, 1956-1966," billed as the first comprehensive exhibit dedicated to Dylan's early career, opens Nov. 20 at Experience Music Project, a Seattle pop-music museum.
