Courtney Love sets tour of California clubs
Though the outing is much less extensive than originally planned, rocker Courtney Love and her new, all-female backing group The Chelsea are finally set to hit the road.
The embattled rocker's newly confirmed, five-city tour of large California clubs opens Oct. 24 in San Diego, and will also visit San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Ventura and Los Angeles. Details are in the itinerary below.
Love called off a planned U.S. tour in support of her debut solo album, "America's Sweetheart," as her legal troubles mounted in June. The set, released in February, is Love's first release since Hole's 1998 swan-song, "Celebrity Skin." She pulled the plug on that group in May of 2002.
Love is next due in court on Nov. 3, when she faces a drug possession charge in Beverly Hills, CA. Other pending court matters include two assault accusations--one for allegedly attacking a woman with a bottle at a Los Angeles home and one for allegedly throwing a microphone stand at a New York club--as well as various claims by creditors of unpaid bills.
In May, Love was sentenced to a drug treatment program after she pleaded guilty to being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. That charge stemmed from an incident last October, when Love was arrested for allegedly trying to break into her former manager/boyfriend's home, and was charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The disorderly conduct charge reportedly was dropped in a plea agreement.
