Simple Plan drafts tour plans behind sophomore album

Montreal-based pop-punk act Simple Plan will support its forthcoming album with a club tour that gets underway later this month.

The band is warming up with a long series of October charity shows in Canada; details are on the group's website. That outing will be followed by the U.S. club tour, which launches Oct. 30 in Denver. The itinerary appears below.

Simple Plan drops its sophomore album, "Still Not Getting Any ...," on Oct. 26. It is the follow-up to 2002's "No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls," which sold more than 2 million copies and spawned the hit singles "I'd Do Anything," "Addicted" and "Perfect," according to Lava Records.

The new album--produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi)--will be shipped with three separate covers, two of which will be available for a limited run, according to Lava. "In keeping with the band's keen sense of humor, 'Still Not Getting Any's …' limited edition covers feature the band in various stages of aging, while growing old together as a band," said a label statement. "One cover features the band in their 40s, resplendent in plaid pants and golf shirts, while the other shows the band in their 90s, complete with canes, walkers, IV bags and nursing home attire."

The new album will also be issued as a DualDisc, a two-sided disc that features a CD on one side and a DVD on the other. The DVD features 20 minutes of "making of the album" footage, galleries, lyrics and bonus material.
