Briefly: U2, Toby Keith, Eminem, Wyclef Jean
U2 performed its new single, "Vertigo," and two other new songs--"All Because of You" and "City of Blinding Lights"--live in a BBC parking lot in West London on Friday night (10/15).
According to the band's website, hundreds of fans who turned up at the BBC's Wood Lane studios watched the performance from the street for free.
Toby Keith 's "Greatest Hits Volume II," due in stores on Nov. 9, will feature 11 tracks from previous albums and three new tracks.
The new tracks include lead single "Stays in Mexico," a cover of the James Taylor/Carly Simon duet "Mockingbird" that features Keith's 16-year-old daughter Crystal, and "Go with Her."
Eminem will launch Shade 45, his channel on the Sirius satellite radio network, on Oct. 28 with a live broadcast of "The Shady National Convention" from New York's Roseland Ballroom, the network announced this week. His new album, "Encore," hits stores Nov. 16.
Wyclef Jean is scheduled to perform in support of striking casino workers during a Saturday (10/16) rally in Atlantic City, NJ. According to a press release, Jean will lead a march through the city following his noon performance.
