Fatboy Slim promises unique 'Palookaville' shows

Producer/DJ Norman Cook--a.k.a. Fatboy Slim --is planning to embark on a trek that includes stops at some unusual--and unusually outfitted--venues.

The tour, dubbed "One Way Ticket To Palookaville," supports the new Fatboy Slim album, "Palookaville," which hit stores earlier this month.

According to a press release, Metro in Chicago will be specially decorated for Fatboy Slim's appearance as the "Palookaville" train station. The set for the Fatboy Slim video "Slash Dot Dash" will be re-created for the tour's Toronto stop. In New York City, the setting will be a loft party.

"Each stop on the 'Palookaville' tour will be more outrageous than the one before," promises the press release. "Although any night with Fatboy is far from the ordinary, he's upped the bar once again by eschewing traditional clubs for some of the most unique venues and settings imaginable."

Pre-sales will be offered for the tour; details are available at Astralwerks Records' Fatboy Slim website.

In other news, Fatboy Slim is scheduled to perform on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on Nov. 9. The appearance will mark Cook's first-ever live television performance. He'll be backed by a full band.
