Jane Siberry mounts North American tour

Canadian singer Jane Siberry traverses her homeland and the U.S. during a late-fall tour that will find the eclectic artist road-testing some new material.

Siberry launches the run later this month, and is scheduled to make stops throughout North America until at least Dec. 19. The itinerary--shown below--includes a three-night stand in New York City.

All shows are solo performances, and will feature a mix of previously released songs, as well as "new and unrecorded materials," according to Siberry's website.

Fellow singer/songwriter Adrienne Pierce opens on all dates.

Siberry's most recent release is this year's "Sushan the Palace (Hymns of Earth)," a collection of classical works that she issued on her own Sheeba record label. Three of the albums nine tracks are streaming at Siberry's website.

The album is a departure for the singer, who previously has recorded more pop-leaning--albeit quirky--material.

Siberry scored her first hit in Canada with the mid-'80s cut "Mimi on the Beach." She subsequently signed with Warner Bros. and released four albums for the company before launching Sheeba with the release of her 1996 set, "Teenager."
