Bob Mould packs his guitar for U.S. club shows
Former Husker Du and Sugar guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould , who's been spending most of his time working as a club DJ and electronic musician in recent years, is set to embark on a solo acoustic tour.
Mould's set lists are expected to include a mix of old songs, recent tracks and material that could end up on his next album, which has a working title of "Body of Song."
Mould hasn't released a new album since 2002's "Modulate," for which he built his songs using electronic instruments and computers rather than guitar.
Last month, Mould and long-estranged Husker Du drummer Grant Hart reunited for their first performance together since the post-punk trio split more than 15 years ago. The two played the Husker Du songs "Hardly Getting Over It" and "Never Talking to You Again" during a benefit concert in Minneapolis for cancer-survivor Karl Mueller of Soul Asylum.
Most Saturdays, Mould and producer Rich Morel can be found co-hosting Blowoff, a weekly gay-oriented dance event at the 9:30 Club's Backbar in Washington, DC.
Mould has been keeping fans apprised of his activities--and of his take on current events--at his blog.
