Moe. rings in the New Year on stage, plots 2005 tour
Jam band Moe. ends one year and starts another with back-to-back performances in Las Vegas, followed by a winter tour of the U.S.
The group is scheduled to play at Las Vegas' Cox Pavilion on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, with the New Year's Eve show featuring three full sets, according to Moe.'s website.
A winter outing then launches in mid-February, and dates so far stretch into early March. The itinerary is shown below.
Though Moe. hasn't released a new studio album since its February 2003 set "Wormwood," the group has been pumping out live albums at a brisk pace. In September of 2003, the band issued "Warts and All, Vol. 3," a three-disc set that captures the group's Nov. 13, 1998 concert in Chicago, IL.
Additionally, during its 2003 tour, the band teamed with Instant Live, a Clear Channel Entertainment company that records concerts and burns them to CD immediately following the show. The collaboration yielded recordings of five late-2003 Moe. concerts. More information is available at the band's website.
Moe.'s "Wormwood" is one continuous piece of music; the group recorded the basic tracks during live shows in the summer of 2002, then added "studio jams and assorted weirdness" at a studio located "in the sticks of Massachusetts," according to its website.
