Bruce Springsteen joins Asbury Park holiday jam
New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen , who has played a series of holiday benefit concerts at his home state's Asbury Park Convention Hall in three of the last four years, has different plans this season.
Springsteen instead is scheduled to play a Dec. 19 show to benefit Asbury Park shops at the city's Harry's Roadhouse, which has a capacity of about 800. The event is dubbed "Christmas Jam at the Roadhouse - Bruce Springsteen with Bobby Bandiera and Friends."
Ticket on-sale information for the show hadn't been announced at press time, but 10 fans who shop in Asbury Park between Dec. 4 and Dec. 18 will be awarded a free pair of tickets to the show and the opportunity to meet The Boss, according to a press release.
More details about the contest, including the official rules, are posted at the Merchants Guild of Asbury Park's website.
Springsteen is also scheduled to play a Thursday (12/2) benefit concert at Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall to raise money for victims of a recent flood.
