Briefly: Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Ruben Studdard
Nine Inch Nails foreman Trent Reznor has revealed the new title for his next album, which is due out early next year.
Originally titled "Bleedthrough," Reznor has since dubbed the set "With Teeth," according to NIN's website.
In a message posted to the site on Friday (12/3), Reznor said that he is currently working on a track titled "Only." He added that the new album "is a more lyric-based record than [its 1999 predecessor] 'The Fragile.'"
Depeche Mode is set to begin work on a follow-up to 2001's "Exciter."
According to the group's website, the trio planned to meet in Santa Barbara, CA, in early December with producer Ben Hillier and other collaborators. The group will then get to work on the album in January.
Billy Idol has set a March 22 release date for his first album of new material in more than 10 years. Titled "Devil's Playground," the set features the cut "Scream," which is scheduled to hit radio stations on Jan. 3, according to Idol's publicist.
"American Idol" second-season winner Ruben Studdard 's debut gospel album, "I Need an Angel," logged first-week sales of more than 96,000 copies, making it the highest-selling gospel debut in six years, and securing it a No. 1 slot on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart. The No. 2 entry sold about 8,000 copies, according to J Records.
