Sarah McLachlan adds stops to 2005 itinerary
Sarah McLachlan , who last month announced plans to mount a North American tour in early 2005, has added a slew of dates to the run.
The Canadian singer/songwriter is still slated to kick things off in her homeland with a two-night stand in Victoria, British Columbia, on April 12-13, and subsequent dates throughout the U.S. and Canada stretch into late May. Details are shown below.
The tour is the latest chapter in McLachlan's support for her most recent studio set, last year's "Afterglow." The double-platinum set features the hit single "Fallen," which is streaming at McLachlan's website.
In November, McLachlan issued "Afterglow Live," a CD and companion DVD recorded during her summer 2004 tour. The DVD features 23 tracks, as well as music videos for three "Afterglow" cuts, while the CD houses 15 live songs.
McLachlan's 2004 tour marked the end of a five-year touring hiatius. The singer kept a low profile for several years in the wake of her mother's death from cancer in 1997 and the birth of her daughter India five months later.
McLachlan has won three Grammy awards over the course of her career, and has sold more than 25 million records worldwide, according to Arista Records. In April, she picked up Juno Awards--the Canadian equivalent to a Grammy--in the Songwriter of the Year and Pop Album of the Year categories.
On Tuesday (12/7), "Afterglow" garnered McLachlan a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. The awards ceremony takes place in February.
