Marc Broussard keeps busy this winter with U.S. tour

Singer/songwriter Marc Broussard backs his debut full-length, "Carenco," with a winter run on the U.S. club and theater circuit.

After playing a pair of holiday-themed radio-station festivals in December, Broussard launches his outing in late January, and dates so far extend into mid-February. Details are shown below.

Released in August, "Carenco"--the name of the Louisiana town from which Broussard hails--is the follow-up to the singer's 2002 debut EP, "Momentary Setback." He co-wrote all of the songs on the new set; other contributors included Martin Sexton, Radney Foster and Jay Joyce.

As was the case on "Momentary Setback," Broussard's father, Ted--with whom Broussard began performing at age 5--plays guitar on "Carenco."

Broussard's roadwork behind "Momentary Setback" helped prepare him and his band for the "Carenco" studio sessions, according to his record company bio.

"Back in the day, they called pre-production 'going on tour,' and that's kind of the way we are," Broussard said. "We did something like 200 dates last year and it couldn't have been better preparation to go in to make this album. Laying down the tracks with these guys felt like a natural extension of what we did on the road. It was the perfect culmination of songwriting and performing and I couldn't be happier with the process and result."

Streaming audio of all 11 tracks on "Carceno," as well as streaming video for the cut "Where You Are," are posted at Broussard's website. Live versions of three "Carceno" tracks are also available at the site.
