Alter Bridge [ tickets ] is preparing to embark on a winter U.S. tour that now includes a number of new dates.

The group has plugged holes in its itinerary for the January/February outing by adding stops in 10 cities, including Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Tickets for many shows are scheduled to hit the box office this month. Details are shown in the itinerary below.

The Florida-based quartet--which has tapped fellow rockers Silvertide [ tickets ] and Submersed [ tickets ] to hold down the tour's opening slots--will warm up for the run with a New Year's Eve performance at the House of Blues in Orlando.

Alter Bridge--Creed alumni Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott Phillips (drums) and Brian Marshall (bass), along with former Mayfield Four frontman Myles Kennedy--issued its debut album, "One Day Remains," in August. The set recently achieved gold status, marking 500,000 copies shipped in the U.S.

Sales of the album have been fueled by the success of lead-off single "Open Your Eyes" and follow-up cut "Find the Real." Both tracks are streaming at the group's website.

Silvertide, which spent a good chunk of 2004 opening for Van Halen, issued its first album, "Show & Tell," in June.

Alter Bridge's Wind-up Records label-mate Submersed delivered its debut set, "In Due Time," in late September.
