Lou Reed To Tour This June In Support Of "Ecstasy"

Rock 'n' roll animal Lou Reed is taking his longtime band on the road in the U.S. in June, supporting his recent release "Ecstacy" (Reprise).

Currently on tour in Europe, the singer-songwriter will be joined by guitarist Mike Rathke, bassist Fernando Saunders and drummer Tony "Thunder" Smith, all of whom have been with Reed for a decade or more.

''Ecstasy'' features notable narrative songs "Paranoia Key of E" and "The Rock Minuet." The 18-minute jam "Like a Possum," a raw reflection on bottoming out on drugs, alcohol and sex, has drawn comparisons to the Velvet Underground song "Sister Ray" and to Reed's "Blue Mask."
