Briefly: Prince, Celine Dion, Madonna, Ted Nugent, Mariah Carey

Prince grossed $87.4 million on the North American concert circuit in 2004, topping concert industry trade publication Pollstar's list of the year's top-earning tours.

Celine Dion 's Las Vegas production took in $80.4 million to finish at No. 2 on the list, followed by Madonna ($79.5 million), Metallica ($60.5 million), Bette Midler ($59.4 million), Van Halen ($54.3 million), Kenny Chesney ($50.8 million), Sting ($50.1 million), Toby Keith ($43.7 million) and Elton John ($43.3 million).

The average ticket price to see one of Pollstar's top-100 acts was $52 before taxes and fees, a new record, according to the magazine. Elton John charged the highest average ticket price, more than $150, according to Pollstar.

Though overall gross ticket sales were up about one percent from 2003, the number of tickets sold was down about three percent.

Rocker and right-wing activist Ted Nugent --a Michigan native with the nickname "The Motor City Madman"--reportedly plans to officially change his residence to Texas in 2005.

According to the Associated Press, Nugent bought a ranch in Crawford, TX, in 2003, and moved his family there. Nugent--who reportedly plans to get his Texas driver's license this year--said his new house is "right around the corner" from President George W. Bush's ranch.

Mariah Carey will host the New Year's Eve opening of the new nightclub Pure, located at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
