Goldfinger set to drop new album, mount tour
Pop-punk outfit Goldfinger dishes up its fifth album next month, and will back the set with a U.S. club tour.
The album, titled "Disconnection Notice," is due out on Feb. 15, and the group will launch the set with a release-day show at New York City's Irving Plaza.
Subsequent dates are scheduled into early March, and focus on the Northeast and Midwest. Tickets for a number of shows will hit the box office during the next several days. Details are shown in the itinerary below.
The group's website is offering fans a shot at tickets via online pre-sales for most shows. More information is posted at the site.
Alt-rock quartet The Start will hold down the tour's opening slot.
Goldfinger recorded "Disconnection Notice" at frontman John Feldman's home studio, and did so "quickly and loosely as possible," according to the band's record-label bio.
"I loved it," Feldman said in a statement. "It's annoying to do three weeks of drums, two weeks of bass and two weeks of guitars. That's not f---ing rock, man! That's stupid, that's controlled anarchy, it's an oxymoron, it doesn't make sense."
Several of the new album's tracks were recorded in a single day, according to Maverick Records.
"Disconnection Notice" features the cut "Wasted," which is streaming at Maverick's Goldfinger webpage.
