Dave Matthews Band chronicles new album on website

The Dave Matthews Band plans to drop a new album sometime this spring, and is outlining the set's evolution online.

The group recently launched a new website "dedicated exclusively to the creative process that is involved with the forthcoming album," according to a welcome announcement posted at the site.

Regular updates from the studio, video clips and audio clips are promised as work on the set continues. The first video from the studio introduces producer Mark Baston (Eminem, Sting, Gwen Stefani), whom the band met at a Los Angeles show last August.

"My goal with Dave Matthews Band was to make an album that was different from any other album they ever made," Baston says in the video.

"Things are unfolding in a really natural way," Matthews says.

Playing in the background of the video is a new song with the lyric "everybody wake up/if you're living with your eyes closed."

The upcoming album will be the follow-up to 2002's "Busted Stuff."
