O.A.R. maps tour dates while working new album
Currently at work on a new studio album, O.A.R. will return to the stage in March for a series of North American shows.
So far, the do-it-yourself rockers have lined up a string of March dates, most of which are set on the West Coast, including a two-night stand in West Hollywood, CA. Details are shown below.
O.A.R.'s 2005 tour plans also include a stint aboard a music-themed cruise dubbed Rock the Boat. The excursion takes place Sept. 29-Oct. 3, and will also feature Sister Hazel, Cowboy Mouth, Marc Broussard, Ari Hest and others. More information is available at event's website.
Before heading back out on tour, O.A.R. is working on new material for the follow-up to its most recent studio set, 2003's "In Between Now and Then."
"We're still rehearsing every day, but right now we're doing it at Mustang Janie's ([drummer] Chris [Culos]'s mom's basement)," the group wrote in a message posted at its website. "It's nice to get back to writing and working on songs in the same place where we started the band. But it's better this time around because there's a Chipotle right around the corner."
The group has not announced a release date for the new album, but fans can expect to hear some tracks during the upcoming tour, as the band frequently road tests new material.
"In Between Now and Then" marked the group's first release for Lava Records. The live set "34th & 8th" followed last year.
Prior to inking a deal with Lava, O.A.R. released four indie-label albums, and built a large, grassroots following by touring almost non-stop.
