Keith Urban maps more North American tour dates
Australian native Keith Urban is nearing the end of his latest round of North American shows, but the country singer will return to the continent in March.
Urban, whose current stretch of U.S. shows wraps up Sunday (1/30), heads to Australia in mid-February for a leg of touring that ends March 1. He'll then return to North America for a month-long jaunt through the U.S. and Canada that kicks off March 8 at Texas' annual RodeoHouston festival. The itinerary is shown below.
Before leaving the states for his Australian tour, Urban will perform at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards. While on hand, the singer has a shot at picking up a trophy or two; his latest album, "Be Here," is nominated for Best Country Album, and the single "You'll Think of Me" scored him a nod for Best Male Vocal Performance. The awards show takes place Feb. 13 in Los Angeles, and will air on CBS.
Released in September, "Be Here" sold 148,000 copies during its first week in stores, and was certified platinum in November, signifying U.S. shipment of 1 million copies.
Urban, who co-produced "Be Here" with Dann Huff, said in a press release that the new album reflects his evolution both personally and professionally.
"For me, it's just a matter of getting more comfortable in my own skin," he said. "I hope that there's more of me coming through in the music. I think that comes from getting comfortable with myself as a person and as a musician, but also from getting comfortable in the studio. In the end, all you can do is live and learn."
"Be Here" is the follow-up to 2002's double-platinum "Golden Road"
