Briefly: Billy Joel, Ryan Adams, C-Murder, Ray Peterson
Billy Joel, who last week announced plans to play a one-off arena show in Phoenix, has now confirmed a March 26 concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
Tickets for the Las Vegas show, as well as the previously scheduled March 31 appearance at America West Arena, hit the market Saturday (1/29), according to promoters.
Ryan Adams has announced plans to release three new albums in the coming months: a two-disc set with his band The Cardinals titled "Cold Roses" (due April 19); the Thomas Schick-produced "Jacksonville;" and the Ethan Johns-produced "29" (release dates for both to be announced).
According to Adams' official website, the singer/songwriter will be touring North America and Europe this spring, summer and fall.
Rapper C-Murder , who is still held without bail in Louisiana prison as he awaits a retrial on a murder charge, nonetheless will release a new album on March 22, according to Koch Records.
The new set, titled "The Truest **** I Ever Said," features guest appearances by the late Soulja Slim, B.G., Akon, Capone and others.
Ray Peterson , best known for his 1960 teen-tragedy song "Tell Laura I Love Her," died Tuesday (1/25) after battling cancer. He was believed to be 69 years old, but many sources list his age as 65.
