Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails top Coachella bill
The two-day event, which takes place at the Empire Polo Grounds in the Southern California desert community of Indio, is set for April 30 and May 1. The complete list of confirmed acts at press time is below; tickets for both shows will go on sale Saturday (2/5).
Besides a lengthy bill of alternative and electronica acts, the sixth edition of Coachella has sparked reunions of influential rock bands Gang of Four, Cocteau Twins and Bauhaus. The event will also mark the first concert appearance by Weezer since 2002.
Among the acts returning to Coachella this year are Bright Eyes, Cafe Tacuba, The Chemical Brothers, DJ Peretz (a.k.a. Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell), Eisley, Hernan Cattaneo, Prodigy, Roni Size, Sage Francis and Weezer.
Wilco was scheduled to appear at last year's Coachella fest, but the group bowed out after frontman/guitarist Jeff Tweedy checked himself into a rehab program for an addiction to painkillers.
More than 90 acts will perform over the two days, according to organizers. Tickets will be priced at $80 for a single day and $150 for a two-day pass.
Campground facilities will also be available, priced at $35 for a three-night stay (April 29-May 2). Campground tickets will go on sale at the same time as the concert tickets.
The Coachella campground--located adjacent to the concert site--will include a general store, food court, restrooms, showers and shade areas.
