Briefly: Dave Matthews Band, Judas Priest, LeAnn Rimes, Robbers on High Street
The free, Sept. 12 show drew an estimated 60,000 fans, who were asked to make donations. Additional money was raised through the sale of VIP tickets and concessions.
Judas Priest will release a new album titled "Angel of Retribution" on March 1. The set marks the first new music from the metal band in 15 years to feature the reunited lineup of vocalist Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis.
The album will be released in two configurations: a two-disc set that includes the full album and a 30-minute, behind-the-scenes DVD; and a limited-edition, two-disc set featuring special hardcover packaging, the album and a long-form DVD that clocks in at more than an hour.
LeAnn Rimes has recorded a Richard Marx-penned trick titled "Remember When," which will serve as the official anthem of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary "Happiest Celebration on Earth" campaign.
The song, which will appear on "The Official Album of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary" (due May 3), will also be heard during a fireworks show at the park and in upcoming Disneyland marketing.
Disneyland is planning 18 months of events in celebration of the anniversary.
Robbers on High Street --who drop their debut album, "Tree City," on Feb. 22--will serve as the house band on NBC-TV's "Last Call with Carson Daly" for the entire week of Feb. 22.
