Oasis returns to the U.S. this summer, taps Jet to open
Oasis , which hasn't played a U.S. show since 2002, will back its forthcoming album with a brief round of stateside shows that will also feature Australian rockers Jet .
So far, plans are in place for June performances in Detroit, Chicago, New York City and Philadelphia. Tickets for all four shows go on sale on Feb. 12, according to Epic Records. No word yet on whether the group plans to add more shows to the run.
The U.S. shows precede a series of European concerts, and will follow the planned May release of the group's first new studio album since 2002's "Heathen Chemistry." The band hasn't yet announced a title for the new set.
Last September, Oasis issued a DVD to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of its debut album, "Definitely Maybe." The disc features the audio version of the album and more than four hours of archived and new footage, including a one-hour documentary about the recording of the album.
Jet is currently working on the follow-up to its 2003 debut, "Get Born," which spawned the rock-radio hits "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Cold Hard Bitch."
