Motorhead, Corrosion of Conformity team for spring tour
Metal vets Motorhead will mark their 30th anniversary with a spring tour of the U.S. that will also feature fellow rockers Corrosion of Conformity .
The tour kicks off March 9 in Sayreville, NJ, and dates so far stretch into mid-April. The itinerary is shown below.
"Many more" shows will be added to the run, according to a press release.
The outing marks Motorhead's return to the U.S. after scrapping a planned fall outing last year; that run was waylaid when frontman/bassist Lemmy Kilminster suffered a foot injury during the group's European trek.
Kilminster founded Motorhead in London in 1975. He has been the group's only constant member over the years, during which a number of guitarists and drummers have come and gone. The band's most recent studio album, "Inferno," surfaced last year.
In the midst of the tour, Corrosion of Conformity--a.k.a. COC--plans to issue its first new studio set since 2000's "America's Volume Dealer." Titled "In the Arms of God," the album is scheduled for release on April 5.
COC mainstays Pepper Keenan (vocals/guitar), Woody Weatherman (guitar) and Mike Dean (bass) recorded "In the Arms of God" with drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic). Scheduling conflicts will prevent Moore from touring with the band, according to COC's publicist; Jason Patterson (Cry of Love) will man the kit during the outing.
