The Wallflowers book brief tour, promise 'special announcement'
The Wallflowers have lined up a half-dozen mid-March tour dates that include a stop at the annual South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX.
The group launches the run March 14 in Denver, touches down at SXSW on March 19, and wraps things up in New Orleans on March 20. The full itinerary is shown below.
In addition to announcing the tour dates, the band's management, in a message posted at the group's website, said that it will "be making a very special announcement" on Friday (2/18).
"We think it's safe to say that the announcement will contain news that you've all been waiting to hear," the message continued.
The announcement will likely shed light on a new album; last May, frontman Jakob Dylan said in a statement that the group was working on a new set with producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine), which, at the time, he projected would surface in early 2005.
The new set will follow 2002's "Red Letter Days."
