Mudvayne finishes one round of shows, plots another
Mudvayne heads to Europe after wrapping up its latest stretch of U.S. concerts in New York City on Thursday night (2/17), but the rockers will soon return to the states.
The alt-metal quartet launches its next leg of North American shows in late March, and dates so far are set into mid-April. The itinerary is shown below.
The new dates are part of an ongoing tour that ushers in the group's next album, "Lost and Found," which hits stores April 12. The band plans to mark the occasion with a release-day performance in New York City; a venue for that show has not yet been announced.
The North American run follows a European trek that gets underway later this month and rolls into mid-March. More information about the Euro outing is posted at Mudvayne's website.
Recorded at The Plant in Sausalito, CA, with producer Dave Fortman (Superjoint Ritual, Evanescence), "Lost and Found" follows 2002's "The End of All Things to Come." The new album marks a departure for the band members, who, in the past, wore disguises and used nicknames. This time around, the group is going without the gimmickry.
"We've never been defined by the makeup," drummer Matt McDonough said in a statement. "That's just one of the artistic tools that we've used to communicate ideas. We're not apologizing for it or even saying that we won't wear it again in the future. But right now, this is how we're expressing ourselves."
Mudvayne has sold more than 2 million records worldwide and has racked up four RIAA gold-certified releases, according to Epic.
