New Wallflowers album to follow brief club tour
Making good on a promise delivered earlier this week, The Wallflowers announced Friday (2/18) that they'll release a new album this spring.
Titled "Rebel, Sweetheart," the new disc is due out on May 24, and its arrival in stores will follow the mid-March radio release of first single "The Beautiful Side of Somewhere." The full track list appears below.
The group recorded the new set last summer and fall at Southern Tracks Recording studio in Atlanta with producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine). The album is the follow-up to 2002's "Red Letter Days."
As previously reported, The Wallflowers will precede the new album's release with a half-dozen club dates in March, and "will tour extensively throughout the U.S. and the world" after the album lands in stores, according to a press release. The itinerary for the pre-release outing is included below.
In conjunction with the new album's release, the band plans to launch a revamped version of its website, and is asking fans to help guide the redesign by submitting suggestions at the existing site. More information is posted at the site.
