Briefly: Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Omarion, 3 Doors Down, iTunes Music Store
Good Charlotte and Simple Plan will join forces for a co-headlining tour of North America this spring. The outing will kick off May 3 in Kansas City, and is expected to run through June 5, according to a press release.
Relient K will hold down the tour's opening slot. The tour itinerary will be announced in the "coming days."
"O," the debut solo effort from former B2K frontman Omarion , moved about 182,000 copies during its first week in stores, which places it atop the forthcoming Billboard 200 album chart.
"Genius Loves Company," the final release from the late Ray Charles, drops a slot to No. 2. Also losing ground are Green Day's "American Idiot" and The Game's "The Documentary," which dip to Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
Meanwhile, Tori Amos' latest set, "The Beekeeper," makes its debut at No. 5.
3 Doors Down will help launch ESPN's new college-sports network, ESPNU, with a Friday (3/4) performance at Oklahoma State University. The performance will air during the network's inaugural broadcast, which starts at 6 p.m. Central Time and will be simulcast on ESPN2, according to a press release.
Apple's iTunes Music Store has sold more than 300 million songs since its April 2003 launch, the company announced on Wednesday (3/2).
