Billy Idol expands tour plans
Billy Idol , who this month issues his first new studio album in more than a decade, has extended his tour behind the set well into the spring.
The outing, which kicks off March 14 in Texas, now stretches into late May, and includes stops throughout the U.S., as well as a pair of mid-May Canadian shows. The itinerary is included below.
On March 22, Idol releases "Devil's Playground," his first original collection since 1993's "Cyberpunk." The new set features Idol's latest single, "Scream."
Backing Idol on "Devil's Playground"--and during the upcoming tour--are longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, drummer Brian Tichy, bassist Stephen McGrath and keyboardist Derek Sheridan.
Idol--who broke through with the punk-rock group Generation X--rose to stardom during the '80s thanks to hits such as "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell," "Dancing with Myself" and "Cradle of Love," among others.
