Cranberries To Follow Album Release With Club / Theatre Tour

The Cranberries will follow the release of their fourth album Bury The Hatchet with a string of club and theatre dates set to kick off April 28th in Washington, DC. The move follows recent club and theatre bookings by Alanis Morissette, Silverchair and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to herald the releases of their current album efforts.

In announcing the nine-date outing, a statement issued Tuesday (3/30) by the band's publicists indicated that tickets would be available for all dates April 1st and only via the Internet.

The press statement pointed fans to the band's official web site, saying that tickets would only be available there, however early Wednesday, the site simply featured a link to purchase tickets through Ticketmaster Online. When asked if other ticket companies involved with shows along the tour route would also make tickets available online, a spokesperson for the band indicated Tuesday that those details were still being worked out.

Bury The Hatchet will hit stores on April 27th. The release will be preceded by Cranberries performances on Late Night with David Letterman on April 26th and Rosie O'Donell's daytime talk show on April 27th. Following the West Coast finish of the tour, the band will appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on May 21st.

A world tour is being scheduled for the summer.
