Miami Venue Cites "Uncertainty Of Events In Boston" As Reason Behind Rap Show Cancellation

update: Miami's American Airlines Arena said that the reason that it has cancelled its April 7 Ruff Ryders/Cash Money show was that the venue did not have a complete picture of what happened at the backstage stabbings during the Boston show on Monday.

"We cancelled the show because of the uncertainty of events in Boston that occurred earlier in the week," said Eric Bresler, marketing director at the American Airlines Arena, a new 20,000 seat venue.

He said other factors were decisions by Tampa's USF Sun Dome to cancel its April 6 show and Philadelphia First Union Spectrum to postpone its April 4 show.

"The fact that they [Boston police] haven't made any arrests yet" was another factor, Bressler said. A spokesperson for the Boston police said Friday (4/7) that police continue to question artists and their guests, a process that they began on Tuesday (4/4) .

A promoter for the tour said Friday (4/7) that shows in Charlotte, Atlanta, Little Rock, Seattle, Sacramento, Calif., Irvine, Calif., and Phoenix are still on.
