Briefly: Fat Joe, Nikka Costa, Voodoo Music Experience, Bobby Short
The release of Fat Joe 's forthcoming album, "All or Nothing," has been delayed a month to May 24 because of problems clearing the rights to use some samples.
"Due to sample clearance issues on two songs, Joe decided to push his album back one month rather than taking those songs off his highly anticipated upcoming album," said a press release issued by his publicist.
Nikka Costa will issue her follow up to 2001's "Everybody Got Their Something" on May 24. The new set, dubbed "can'tneverdidnothin'," features 11 new, self-produced tracks.
Costa will hit the road in April as the opening act on Lenny Kravitz's tour.
This year's edition of the New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience, a festival that debuted in 1999, is set for Oct. 29-30. Organizers plan to unveil the lineup in June.
Cabaret singer Bobby Short died of leukemia Monday (3/21) at a New York hospital. He was 80.
Short had been a staple at Cafe Carlyle, the nightclub at the Carlyle Hotel, since 1968, and was scheduled to open the venue's 50th anniversary season May 3.
