Briefly: 50 Cent, Foghat, 'American Idol,' The Roots

March 23, 2005 04:37 PM
About 364,000 copies of rapper 50 Cent 's "The Massacre" were sold last week, just enough to hold off the latest "NOW That's What I Call Music!" hits compilation, which sold about 361,000 copies.

"The Massacre" is spending its third consecutive week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

Jack Johnson 's "In Between Dreams" falls one spot to No. 3, while Green Day's "American Idiot" moves up one place to No. 4. The Game's "The Documentary" falls two rungs to No. 5.

The voting results for Tuesday's (3/22) edition of the Fox-TV talent show "American Idol" have been thrown out because the phone numbers shown at the end of the program were incorrect. As a result, the network will air a one-hour show Wednesday (3/23) that will include footage from Tuesday's performances along with some new material--followed by a re-vote.
