More details surface for Tom Petty, Black Crowes tour

The Black Crowes --who are in the midst of a string of reunion shows in New York City--have confirmed their summer itinerary in support of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and have also unveiled plans for a multi-night run in San Francisco.

Led by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, the Crowes will join Petty and company for a series of June and July shows; details are shown in the itinerary below.

Ticket on-sale dates for the previously announced Petty shows--which mark his first outing in two years--have not yet been announced.

Also shown below are details of the Crowes' recently announced headlining tour, which now includes an early August, five-night stand at The Fillmore in San Francisco, tickets for which hit the box office on Sunday (3/27), according to the venue.

Meanwhile, ticket presales are underway for several previously announced Black Crowes dates. Details are posted at the group's website.

The Crowes' current stretch of New York shows marks the group's first live performances since Halloween of 2001, after which the band announced that it was going on an indefinite hiatus while the Robinson brothers pursued separate solo endeavors.

Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitars) are the only original Black Crowes members who remain with the band. Backing them on stage now are guitarist Marc Ford (who was fired from the band in 1997) and keyboardist Eddie Hawysch (aka Eddi Harsch), both of whom joined the group after its debut album and tour in 1990; bassist Sven Pipien, who departed the group in 2000; and drummer Bill Dobrow--Rich Robinson's bandmate in Hookah Brown--who takes over for Steve Gorman.

[Editor's note: This article originally noted an April 8 on-sale date for the Tom Petty tour, based on information contained in a Black Crowes press release. A subsequent press release retracted that information, and instead stated that tickets would go on sale "soon."]
