Eagles plotting California tour for late summer
The Eagles , forever associated with "Hotel California," will spend chunks of August and September touring the state that inspired the hit song and album.
Seven California stops, plus a show at Lake Tahoe on the California/Nevada border, are currently on the group's itinerary, which is booked into venues ranging from indoor arenas to fairgrounds. The confirmed schedule as of press time--including ticket on-sale information--is below.
In addition to regular ticket sales, the Eagles are offering VIP packages via ILoveAllAccess.com, a premium ticket service that was rolled out last year. More information is posted at ILoveAllAccess.com.
Word of the Eagles' California trek surfaces as the band enters the final stretch of its current spring tour of North American arenas.
Last month marked the release of "Eagles Box," a limited-edition box set that includes all seven Eagles albums released between 1982 and 1980. Also included is a bonus CD-single featuring the tracks "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Funky New Year."
Still no word on when a new studio album from the group--whose lineup currently comprises Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit--might surface.
The Eagles' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975," which has sold over 28 million copies, is the top-selling album of all time in the U.S. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
