New round of 'Living Room' dates ahead for Carole King
Singer/songwriter Carole King ended a five-year hiatus last year, and says she enjoyed her comeback so much that she's returning for more in 2005.
I knew that I would enjoy the tour last year ... I didn't know how much," King said in a statement. "Performing live is great opportunity to interact with people. The audiences on the last tour blew me away, night after night, with their enthusiasm and passion. I heard from so many people in the cities that we missed last summer that I wanted to continue the tour this year."
The 2005 edition of King's "The Living Room Tour" will visit theaters and small amphitheaters in June and August. The outing is so far scheduled to touch down in more than 20 cities, and more dates are in the works, according to a press release.
As she was last year, King will again be joined on tour by musicians Rudy Guess and Gary Burr. "Rudy and Gary added so much to the show," King said. "I couldn't imagine doing The Living Room Tour without them."
King is best known for her 1971 album, "Tapestry"--which features the hits "It's Too Late" and "I Feel the Earth Move," among others--but she and co-writer Gerry Goffin teamed much earlier to pen hits for other artists, such as The Shirelles' "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and Little Eva's "The Loco-Motion."
"Love Makes the World," King's most-recent album, surfaced in 2001. The singer--whose musical career dates back to the late '50s--spent some time in the studio last year, but has not announced specific plans for a new album.
