CMT Awards honor Gretchen Wilson, 'Whiskey Lullaby,' Keith Urban
The nine trophies handed out Monday night (4/11) in Nashville at the CMT Music Awards were spread around the room, with only two multiple winners.
Gretchen Wilson won the country-music cable-network's Breakthrough Video of the Year award for "Redneck Woman," as well as Female Video of the Year for "When I Think About Cheatin'." Meanwhile, "Whiskey Lullaby," performed by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss, won Collaborative Video of the Year, while its director, Rick Schroder, won Director of the Year.
The top prize, the fan-voted Video of the Year, was claimed by Aussie Keith Urban for "Days Go By." A complete list of award winners is below.
Country legend Loretta Lynn accepted the Johnny Cash Visionary Award from presenters Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride and Reba McEntire. Lynn was also the subject of a pre-taped tribute by friends and family, featuring Elvis Costello, Crystal Gayle, Faith Hill, Sissy Spacek, Keith Urban and Wynonna.
In a surprise performance, Trisha Yearwood made her first live TV appearance in almost three years, singing her forthcoming single "Georgia Rain."
In another performance segment, Gretchen Wilson teamed with the Wilson sisters of Heart for a rendition of "Crazy On You."
