Sum 41's North American itinerary continues to grow
Sum 41 has piled more dates onto its current headlining tour, and has also penciled in some more radio-station festivals and opening sets for Motley Crue.
The group is slated to play a mix of headlining stops and festivals through early June, and has signed on for a total of five July and August shows with the Crue. Details are shown below.
The Canadian punk-pop quartet is working the road behind "Chuck," its follow-up to 2002's "Does This Look Infected?" Released last October, the new set is named for Chuck Pelletier, a United Nations representative who, last May, helped to evacuate the group from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the band members were shooting a documentary--since released and titled "War Child"--about that country's longstanding civil war.
The group arrived during a time of cease-fire, but violence broke out while they were in the country. Pelletier eventually ushered the band members to safety, and they were ultimately evacuated by plane.
Earlier this month, "Chuck" was crowned Best Rock Album of the Year at Canada's annual Juno Awards.
