Minor league ballparks to again host Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan
Fellow touring aficionados Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan will again team for a spring/summer jaunt that will visit Minor League ballparks.
The outing launches May 25 in Florida, and is set to visit about 30 cities in the South and Midwest. Tickets for many shows go on sale Saturday (4/23).
Also on board for the tour are The Greencards, an acoustic, bluegrass-style trio with roots in the U.K. and Australia.
Country icon Nelson and folk legend Dylan first toured together last year, when they also played Minor League stadiums. Though that outing marked their first joint roadtrip, the two singer/songwriters have appeared together at many shows in the past.
The latest release from Nelson--who, at the age of 71, still plays about 250 shows each year--is the new best-of set "Songs," which features 20 of his previously released hits. Nelson's most recent studio album of new material is last year's "I Always Will Be."
Dylan, who is currently on tour with country great Merle Haggard, hasn't released a new studio album since 2001's Grammy-winning "Love and Theft." Despite the dearth of new material, he's been a near-constant on the road since the set's release.
