Velvet Revolver confirmed for final Ozzfest dates

After days of rumors, supergroup Velvet Revolver [ tickets ] has confirmed plans to log some time on this summer's Ozzfest [ tickets ] tour.

The group, which is currently mounting its own headlining run, joins Ozzfest's main-stage lineup for the tour's final seven dates, which take place between Aug. 23 and Sept. 4; details are shown below.

The move plugs a hole that Iron Maiden will leave when it drops off the bill at that time.

Also on board for this year's Ozzfest are main-stage acts Black Sabbath, Mudvayne, Shadows Fall and Black Label Society; and second-stage acts Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, The Haunted, In Flames, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, Soilwork, Trivium, It Dies Today, A Dozen Furies and others.

Scheduled to kick off on the East Coast in mid-July, Ozzfest will also feature additional attractions at its midway--dubbed the "Village of the Damned"--including tattoo artists, piercing booths, video games and vendors. More information is posted at the tour's website.
