Summer club tour ahead for Kings of Leon
Young Southern rockers Kings of Leon , currently supporting U2 on a string of North American dates, are mapping plans to embark on a summer headlining tour.
More than a month of club dates are so far scheduled, beginning in mid-July. Details are below.
The quartet--brothers Caleb Followill (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Nathan Followill (drums) and Jared Followill (bass), and first cousin Matthew Followill (lead guitar)--continues to back its sophomore album, "Aha Shake Heartbreak." The group recorded the set live in the studio--no overdubs--with producer Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Ben Kweller), who also turned the knobs on King's of Leon's 2003 debut, "Youth and Young Manhood."
Thanks to their raw, blues-influenced sound and an interesting back-story--the Followills were raised on the road by their father, a struggling evangelist minister--Kings of Leon have emerged as darlings of the music press and critical favorites.
The band has proven especially popular in Great Britain, where their debut album is certified platinum.
