Dates surface for Megadeth's Gigantour
Megadeth has mapped the itinerary for its summer Gigantour, a festival outing that will also feature mainstage acts Dream Theater , Fear Factory , Dillinger Escape Plan and Nevermore .
The tour kicks off on the West Coast in late July, and is currently slated to wrap up on the East Coast near the end of August. Details are included below.
Megadeth's lineup features founding frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine backed by new members Glen Drover (guitar), James MacDonough (bass) and Shawn Drover (drums) backing founding frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine.
Mustaine assembled the group's latest incarnation for a late-2004 tour behind last year's "The System Has Failed," which entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 18.
If Mustaine is true to his word, the Gigantour might be the last chance fans will have to see the group in concert; the singer told liveDaily last year that the band's roadwork behind the new album would be its "swan song."
"This is the retirement farewell tour," he said. "It's not gonna be like the [yet-to-end] KISS farewell tour."
