Briefly: Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Grammys, Idlewild
Citing scheduling conflicts, Bruce Springsteen has postponed this weekend's planned shows in Hamburg and Berlin, Germany.
The shows have been moved to June 27 and 28, respectively, according to Springsteen's official website.
In a week that lacked a blockbuster new release, Mariah Carey 's "The Emancipation of Mimi" jumped from No. 3 to No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, earning its second non-consecutive week at No. 1.
System of a Down's "Mezmerize" rises two slots to No. 2, while Audioslave 's "Out of Exile," last week's No. 1 album, falls two rungs to No. 3.
Toby Keith's "Honkytonk University" is up one notch to No. 4, while Gwen Stefani "Love, Angel, Music, Baby" leaps from No. 10 to No. 5.
The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 8, 2006 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, marking the event's third straight year at the venue. CBS will broadcast the show live for the 33rd consecutive year.
Scottish quintet Idlewild has set an Aug. 16 U.S. release date for its fifth album, "Warnings/Promises." The set is the band's first to feature new members Gavin Fox (bass) and Allan Stewart (formerly the band's touring guitarist).
