Trace Adkins makes the road his home in 2005

Country singer Trace Adkins [ tickets ] plans to spend the remainder of the year working the U.S. tour circuit as he continues to back his latest album, "Songs About Me."

Adkins' tour schedule is packed tight from now through early October, and he's already begun penciling in shows as far off as December. Details are included below.

"I don't do the same show on any two nights," Adkins said in a statement. "My shows are predicated on what kind of environment I'm in. If it's a fair or festival setting it's toned done a little, then there's a different set for casinos, and a different kind of mindset. The arenas are the most complicated because everything comes together there--you've got kids and you've got older people and there's this energy that you just can't hardly control. Then there are beer joints--man, I love to get in one every two months or so. I have to have it, just to get in there and turn it loose and do those shows like I used to do 15 years ago."

On Saturday (6/11), Adkins will be in Nashville for the annual CMA Music Festival. While there, he'll spend part of the day signing autographs at the Nashville Convention Center--site of the festival's Fan Fair event--and will also perform at the Nashville Coliseum that evening.

Released in March, "Songs About Me" sold almost 63,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to earn it a No. 1 debut on Billboard's Country Albums chart. The set follows 2003's "Comin' On Strong."
