David Gray precedes new album with brief tour
British singer/songwriter David Gray will hype his forthcoming album with a pre-release tour of the U.S. and Canada.
Gray's outing kicks off in Toronto on Aug. 1, and will then hit 10 major U.S. cities by mid-month. Tickets go on sale to the general public during the next few weeks; on-sale dates are included in the itinerary below.
Gray's website is offering pre-sale tickets for all of the shows. Details are posted at the site.
In September, Gray will deliver the follow-up to 2003's "A New Day at Midnight." A specific release date for the new set hasn't been announced.
Gray broke through on the music scene with 2000's "White Ladder." Originally released on Gray's own indie label in 1999, fellow singer/songwriter Dave Matthews--one of Gray's early advocates--made "White Ladder" the inaugural album from his ATO Records imprint. The set spawned Gray's breakout hit, "Please Forgive Me."
