The Used fit U.S. headlining jaunt into busy schedule

Coming off of a springtime trek at the helm of the inaugural Taste of Chaos tour, Utah rockers The Used are taking a break from the road before embarking on a late-summer outing with Glassjaw and 30 Seconds to Mars.

The upcoming outing, which is booked into clubs and theaters throughout the U.S., opens in mid-August and runs through early September.

According to Reprise Records, the band is headed to Los Angeles this week to begin work on a video for the new single "I Caught Fire" with director Kevin Kerslake (Nirvana, Green Day). The track is from the band's sophomore album, last year's gold-certified "In Love and Death."

"In Love and Death" has already spawned two radio hits, "Take it Away" and "All That I've Got." The album was recently re-issued with a cover version of the David Bowie/Freddie Mercury hit "Under Pressure" that features vocals by The Used's Bert McCracken and My Chemical Romance's Gerald Way. The track was first released through an exclusive arrangement with iTunes, with proceeds benefiting South Asia tsunami relief. A portion of future album sales will benefit the same organization, Music for Relief.

In October, The Used will embark on the international version of the Taste of Chaos Tour, where the group again holds down the headlining slot. The outing--which will also feature Killswitch Engage, Story of the Year, Funeral for a Friend and Rise Against--will touch down in Australia, Japan, the U.K. and Germany. Details are posted at the Taste of Chaos website.
