Dave Matthews Band Announces Additional Shows Through July
On the heels of two weeks of strong ticket sales for early dates on their spring / summer itinerary, the Dave Matthews Band unveiled a new stretch of tour dates bringing the hot-selling act deeper into the Midwest and into the Northwest portion of the US. The new dates, announced Saturday via the band's official web site, were all immediately made part of the band's fan club lottery system which allows members to win an opportunity to buy tickets before the general public.
The updated itinerary brings several Midwest markets into the mix and offers up a glimpse at West Coast dates, with Portland, OR and George, WA both named for July dates. Continued intense demand for Dave Matthews Band tickets is noted in the presence of multiple announced shows in several markets.
Matthews finished an acoustic tour with guitarist Tim Reynolds on Thursday (3/25) and will have roughly a month to rest and rehearse before the full band tour launches in Tampa, FL on May 1st. The night before the tour closed, Matthews and Reynolds took part in a ''VH1 Storytellers'' taping, set for broadcast in early June.
While on break, Matthews is expected to take part in a tribute to Johnny Cash being held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on April 6th. The concert, also featuring Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Marty Stuart, Chris Isaak and Emmylou Harris among others, will be broadcast on cable channel TNT on April 18th.
