Roadwork sets up new Franz Ferdinand album

U.K. rockers Franz Ferdinand , who are currently at work on their sophomore album, will pave the way for the set's fall release with a series of North American concert appearances.

The jaunt gets underway Sept. 20 in Chicago, and includes stops in more than 15 markets over the course of a month. Details are in the itinerary below. The North American outing will followed by a European tour; the European schedule is posted at the band's U.K. website.

Franz Ferdinand's self-titled follow-up to its platinum 2004 debut--which was also self-titled--is expected to hit stores in early October. The new set was produced by Rich Costley (Fiona Apple, The Mars Volta).

The Glasgow quartet broke through with its 2004 hit "Take Me Out," the video for which won that year's Breakthrough Video award at the MTV Music Video Awards.
